Unknown Gunmen Abduct Syrian Engineer In Nasarawa, Central Nigeria

The Nasarawa State Police Command has confirmed the abduction of a Syrian engineer, Mah Nagor, by unknown gunmen. The command’s spokesman, ASP Ismalia Numan, told newsmen on Tuesday in Lafia that Nagor was abducted on Monday at a site in Azara, Awe Local Government Area.

HURIWA Seeks Probe Into Security Agents’ Alleged Role In Kidnappings

Non-Governmental Organisation –Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria (HURIWA) has urged the Presidency and the National Security Adviser to the President, Colonel Sambo Dasuki (rtd) to do a comprehensive investigation of allegations that officers in Anambra State Police Command connive with kidnappers by charging between N500,000 and N1 million from family members of victims of armed kidnappings to rescue them, even after payment of ransom to the gangs.
