The Butterfly-Effect of Trump 2.0 on Geopolitics, Economy And Africa Security

Introduction: In a dramatic comeback as the first former United States president to be convicted of a felony (unprecedented 34 counts) and re-elected president, President Donald Trump has been firing from all cylinders and following through on his MAGA (Make America Great Again) campaign mantra. Like the proverbial bull in a China shop, his slew of executive orders and protectionist trade wars, imposing a hefty 25% tariff on imports from Canada and Mexico, and 10% on imports from China, is causing panic and economic disruptions around the world. Canada and Mexico retaliated almost immediately while Beijing escalated the trade war by imposing a 15% tariff on coal and liquefied natural gas (LNG), including a 10% tariff on crude oil, agricultural machinery, and certain vehicles from the United States. China also announced a wide range of measures targeting U.S. businesses and launched an anti-monopoly investigation against tech giant - Google (GOOGL.O).

AFRICOM Commander Wants Full Counterinsurgency Plan For Boko Haram

The top commander of U.S. troops in Africa said he would like the U.S. military to do more to fight the terrorist group Boko Haram, but that it’s up to Nigerian and U.S. policy officials to decide how much they’re willing to change the trajectory of that group’s violent stronghold on the region.

United States To Help Cameroon with Anti-Terrorism Training

The head of the United States Africa Command (AFRICOM) said the U.S. will boost support for Cameroon’s efforts to fight the Nigerian terrorist group Boko Haram. General David Rodriguez announced the United States will supply equipment and logistics training during a visit to Cameroon this week.

Why Is The US Military So Interested in Chad?

Admit it. You don't know where Chad is. You know it's in Africa, of course. But beyond that? Maybe with a map of the continent and by some process of elimination you could come close. But you'd probably pick Sudan or maybe the Central African Republic.

United States Exploiting Ebola Outbreak In West Africa To Establish Military Foothold
