Boko Haram: 579 Officers, Soldiers Are Facing Military Court Martial - Nigerian Army

ABOUT 579 officers and men of the Nigerian Army are facing court martial for various offences. The Acting Director of the Department of Army Public Relations (DAPR), Colonel Sani Usman, who disclosed this at the monthly press briefing yesterday, in Abuja, also said the trials are taking place in two locations: One, “at the Army Headquarters (AHQ) Garrison where there are 473 officers, and ranks and also at 81 Division where 106 are docked.

Boko Haram: Nigerian Army Opens Trial of Brigadier-General, 21 Other Senior Officers

The Nigerian Army on Monday opened the trial of 22 of its officers, accused of mutiny in connection with the military’s ongoing fight against the insurgent group, Boko Haram. The court-martial proceedings of the army officers, including a Brigadier-General, began in Lagos amidst tight security.

15 Soldiers of 23rd Armoured Brigade Yola Court-Martialed, Jailed 4 Years’ For Refusal To Fight Boko Haram

Reports from the 23rd Armoured Brigade, Yola, has revealed that no fewer than 15 soldiers were court-martialed and each sentenced to four years’ jail following their refusal to go to the war front in the northern parts of Adamawa State.
