Many worshippers are feared dead in Yola, the Adamawa State capital,
after a bomb attack on a Jumaat mosque in Jimeta area of the city.
The explosion occurred as worshippers were observing the weekly
Jumaat service, and many worshippers are feared dead and injured.
PREMIUM TIMES reporter in Yola said rescue officials from the Red
Cross, the National Emergency Management Agency and the security
agencies have arrived the scene and and were evacuate victims to
hospital.
“As I speak to you, dismembered bodies of several victims are being moved and the place have been cordoned off,” he said.
The Yola attack occurred hours after a similar explosion occurred in a
mosque in Maiduguri, the Borno state capital, killing and injuring many
worshippers during the early morning prayer session.
That blast, according to residents, occurred in Jiddari
Polo area at about 5am when Muslims were performing the first
congregational prayer of the day.
