Bandits Kill 3,000, Kidnap 500, Destroy 2,000 Houses In Zamfara Siege

The ongoing banditry in Zamfara State has claimed over 3,000 lives and destruction of over 2,000 homes in the past seven years. Also, the bandits have burnt over 500 cars while 500 people were kidnapped for ransom within the same period.

Rampaging Herdsmen Attacks: Food Security Threatened In Nigeria - Ex-Naval Chief

A former Chief of Naval Staff, Vice-Admiral Samuel Afolayan, has warned that the efforts of the federal and state governments to ensure national food sufficiency, employment generation, industrialisation and diversification of the economy may become fruitless if the menace of destruction of farmlands and attack on farmers by herdsmen is not curtailed.

As the intermittent clashes between Fulani herdsmen and farmers persists in Nigeria, the Consulate General of the United States in Lagos has waded in with a view to finding lasting solution to the lingering crisis, especially in the South-West region of the country.
