Nigerian Air force Kills 25 Bandits, Destroys Logistics Base in Zamfara

The Nigerian Air Force, NAF, has disclosed that it has killed 25 armed bandits and neutralised more than a dozen in Zamfara State in an operation fire for fire against the notorious armed bandits.

According to a press statement by the Air Force spokesman, Air Commodore Ibikunle Daramola, the operation was carried out by the Air Task operation Diran Mikiya, noting that an armed bandits logistics base at Ajia was destroyed, killing 25 armed bandits.
According to the statement, Ajia and Wanna had been the hideout of the armed bandits operating within Birnin Magaji local government area of the state.
He noted that the operation that killed the armed bandits and neutralised others was carried out recently following Human intelligence (HUMINT) report which indicated that the armed bandits were operating from a compound within Ajia as logistics store to complement their nefarious acts.
Daramola stated that the Alpha jet, which he said was supported by an intelligence, surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) platform, was perfectly used to attack the compound, saying that the task force used strategies which he said set the compound ablaze.
Speaking further, he noted that the action resulted in the destruction of all the structures and neutralised most of them, adding that the few armed bandits who escaped flew the axis but were taken out in follow-up attacks, stressing that those who escaped the attacks were tracked to Wanka where they were neutralised by the team.
The Air Commodore therefore appealed to members of the public to endeavour to report any suspicious movement of anybody and give the military useful information that would repel the machinations of armed bandits.
