Purpose of the Job:
        To manage, enhance and embed the British Council (BC) Nigeria Security Risk Management function, providing high quality, efficient and integrated security risk management in line with the BC Global manual in order to enable British Council Nigeria operations

The Role:
        The post holder will be based in Abuja, Nigeria and is part of a larger team of Business Support Services.
        This position will report to the Director Business Services Nigeria, acting as security advisor to senior management in all aspects of security.

Key Responsibilities
Risk Assessment:
        Daily monitoring of the security environment in Nigeria.
        Maintenance and mapping of security related incidents, drawing on open source and discrete sources, throughout current and intended BC Nigeria’s Areas of Operation (AOO)
        Conduct on going Security Risk Assessment’s (SRA), in line with international standards, for both permanent locations and BC Nigeria programmes and events in order to identify both current and future risks and associated trigger events.
        Provide sound, accurate and reliable security updates for BC Nigeria senior management.
        Support decision making on feasibility of business operation and events
        Input into on-going assessment of Business Continuity Planning (BCP) for BC Nigeria operations.
        Act as principal Point of Contact (POC) on all security matters for staff in the office
        On-going update and implementation of BC Nigeria Policy, Plans and Procedures in line with the changing security environment and the BC Global Security Manual.
        Work with Facilities Managers in undertaking Health & Safety assessments.
Security Management:
        Security input into all aspects of BC Nigeria operations to include oversight of permanent facilities, exam venues and event planning.
        Provide day to day security management and oversight of security team and contracted security guards.
        Oversight of all BC staff and visitors whilst in Nigeria through close liaison with the human resources department and management of personal tracking and execution of relevant response plans as required
        Effective management of Travel and Journey Management throughout Nigeria ensuring security controls are implemented in line with on-going Security Risk Assessments and BC Global Security Manual.
        On-going site audits of permanent and temporary venues to ensure the highest standards of security are maintained in order to mitigate current and future security risk and ensure compliance with the BC Global Security manual.
        Regular audit of Security Policy, Plans and Procedures and the staff responsible for implementation and on-going management.

Training:
        Implementation of BC Nigeria Security Policy, Plans & Procedures throughout Nigeria
        Regular Incident Management Training with IMT members
        Regular testing of Emergency Response Procedures (ERP) with those staff responsible for their execution.
        Regular Security Awareness Training for all BC Nigeria staff
        Arrival briefing for all visitors that fall under BC Nigeria Duty of Care.
        Management of Hostile Environment Awareness Training (HEAT) for those staff required to operate in Higher Risk environments
        Management of defensive and security driver training for BC Nigeria drivers of both soft skin and armoured vehicles.
Relationship Management:
        Establish and maintain good working relationships with British Council staff locally including the Senior Leadership Team and the Global Security Team in HQ London.
        Liaison with relevant external stakeholders to include; British High Commission, DFID and associated programmes, Nigerian law enforcement and military, UNDSS, International and local NGOs and commercial business.
        Liaison with security service providers throughout the country to ensure efficient service is delivered and competitive services tendered for.

Summary of SFCG Nigeria

Summary of Position
The Logistics Assistant will provide the main logistical support to the Maiduguri Office, liaising closely with finance and administrative staff to ensure good recordkeeping, as well as liaising with the housekeeping staff to support the smooth functioning of the office. Responsibilities:
Responsibilities for the Logistics Assistant include but are not limited to:
  • Coordinate with the Finance and Admin Manager to determine short and long-term office needs (supplies, equipment, operations) and ensure an operational budget is developed;
  • Liaise with the building owner and other operational contacts such as vendors, suppliers and courier services to keep the office fully functional;
  • Coordinate package delivery and pickup-up;

Job description
·         Ensure the provision of optimal user support on all IT network infrastructure within banking industry customer network. 
·         Assist in implementing defined work programmes and plans in the area of IT security. 
·         Assist in performing risk assessments and security scans on banking industry customer’s information systems. 
·     Notify appropriate user groups on vulnerabilities within their systems and recommend options for resolving or mitigating the vulnerabilities. 
·   Assist in analysing system logs generated by UNIX, Windows, mainframe systems and databases, with respect to security integrity.
·         Identify and investigate anomalous log entries and possible implications on security, integrity and performance of banking industry customer’s IT infrastructure. Escalate recommendations to the Manager, IT Architecture and Security.
·         Prepare periodic security/risk assessment report and circulate to all relevant stakeholders.
·         Liaise with relevant unit/ team/function in carrying out all relevant activities.
·         Attend team/divisional/departmental meetings as required.
·         Assist in providing technical support to end users of banking industry customer’s IT network infrastructure organisation-wide.
·         Assist in ensuring the prompt resolution of escalated faults and requests from the call centre and helpdesk. Act as second level of support for escalated issues.
·         Maintain relationships with third-party vendors and ensure that agreed SLAs are achieved.
·         Assist in setting up and maintaining network management system tools to ensure network devices are constantly monitored.
·         Assist in setting up and executing technical test plans for device modification, new deployment and upgrades.
·         Assist in monitoring and troubleshooting network infrastructure (LAN, WAN, routers, cabling, etc) related issues and requests down to the last line of support before escalating to third-party vendors.
·         Maintain an accurate and up-to-date record of escalated issues and resolution status (i.e. a detailed maintenance schedule).
·         Monitor infrastructure performance and recommend adjustments to ensure optimal response time to the Manager, Network Infrastructure Support.
·         Liaise with the help desk to ensure infrastructure related incidents are resolved efficiently and in a timely manner in compliance with Service Level Agreements.
·         Liaise with relevant unit/ team/function in carrying out all relevant activities.
·         Attend team/divisional/departmental meetings as required.
·         Provide guidance and manage the performance of subordinates (where applicable).
·         Prepare/compile agreed periodic activity and performance reports for the attention of the Manager, Network Infrastructure Support.

Job Summary:
In this role, as an installation Engineer, you will be responsible for the installation of high quality vehicle tracking units and speed limiter devices within given time scales both in commercial and domestic sites across your designated location. You will also respond to service calls to diagnose faults and attend to other similar functions as may be considered necessary by your supervisors. 

Main Duties: Installation of electrical communications equipment associated with land based vehicles, vehicle tracking systems and speed limiter devices. Qualifications and Requirements: 
A proven background as an Electrical and Electronics, Communications or Mechanical Engineer. Persons with qualifications in a similar field fitting systems including satellite navigation and telematic systems are also qualified to apply. Fair knowledge of electrical security systems of vehicles or in servicing and installing electronic equipment in the automotive industry. Sufficient IT knowledge with a strong technical background. Ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team. Possession of Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a Flexible approach to work. Applicants MUST possess the ability to work extensively under pressure and still remain calm and focused. A Minimum of 2 years cognate experience and on good track record.
