Gunmen Kill 14, Abduct 6 in Rivers State, South-South Nigeria

Not less than than 14 people were feared dead and many others injured yesterday in Sime community, a suburb of Tai Local Government Area of Rivers State after unknown gunmen invaded the area.
In a related note, six people were also reportedly abducted in Andoni Local Government Area of the state. Many people were said to have sustained various degrees of injuries during the operation that crippled the area.

No fewer than 10,000 Nigerians have died between January and May 2017 while trying to illegally migrate through the Mediterranean Sea and the deserts, the Nigeria Immigration Service has said.
NIS Assistant Comptroller-General, in charge of training, manpower and development, Mr. Maroof Giwa, said that 4,900 Nigerians died in the Mediterranean Sea while the rest died while going through the deserts in their bid to cross to Europe.
