Israeli Expatriate Kidnapped In Nigeria Released After Ransom Payment


A 62-year-old Israeli man who was kidnapped in a gunfight near Nigeria’s capital last week and was held for ransom. After negotiations between the abductors, Israeli embassy officials and local authorities, he was safely released on Monday.

. The 62-year-old man was working in an Israeli company in the country.

The Israeli was kidnapped after a gunfight that claimed the life of his driver. He was then taken by his abductors to a hiding spot.

The Foreign Ministry's division for Israelis abroad, Israel's Ambassador to Nigeria Guy Feldman, Consul Nadav Goren and the embassy's security officer were reportedly involved in the negotiations and helped in all necessary matters involving relevant officials in Nigeria and Israel.
