Nigerian Govt, Private Sector Vote N56bn For Victims of Boko Haram Insurgency




The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has said that the total funding commitment of the Federal Government and the private sector in support of the rehabilitation victims of insurgency at N56 billion.

The Director General of the Agency, Muhammad Sani-Sidi who gave  details of Nigerian government's humanitarian intervention at the second meeting  of the Safe School Leaders in Tehran in Iran, said the federal government voted the sum of N3 billion  under the Presidential Initiative in the North East (PINE) while the sum of N53 billion is expected through the private sector- driven Victims Support Fund (VSF).

"The present government of Nigeria has given her assurance on the sustainability and  continuity of the SSI programme and other interventions such as the Presidential Initiative in the North East (PINE), the sum of N3 billion and the Victims Support Fund (VSF) the sum of N53 billion," he said.
