The National Security Council, NSC has extended the state of
emergency rule in Borno, Adamawa, and Yobe States because of the
continued violence in the states occasioned by the activities of Boko
Haram insurgents.
The Attorney-General of the Federation and
Minister of Justice, Mohammed Adoke disclosed this while speaking with
State House correspondents today after a meeting of the National
Security Council.
Adoke further said that the President would
immediately forward a request to the National Assembly for approval of
the extension.
